The key to installing waterproof LED wall lights lies in "correct wiring, secure mounting, and proper sealing." By doing these three things well, you can ensure that it is both aesthetically pleasing and durable.

FAQ:
1. How to interpret IP ratings? Is IP65 sufficient?
This is the most crucial indicator when purchasing. The two numbers after IP represent dustproof and waterproof capabilities, respectively.
IP44: Splash-proof, suitable for installation on the inside of balconies or under eaves where it won't get wet.
IP65: Completely dustproof and spray-proof, weatherproof, safe for outdoor installation, such as in yards or on either side of doors. For most household outdoor scenarios, IP65 is sufficient.
IP67/IP68: Higher protection level, can withstand short-term immersion, suitable for coastal or particularly humid areas. Heguang swimming pool lights utilize exclusive IP68 structural waterproofing technology for greater durability.
2. Why do some waterproof lights still get wet?
Even with high IP rating lights, water can still enter and cause damage if the following occurs:
Poor installation sealing: The gap between the light body and the wall is not sealed with waterproof sealant, allowing rainwater to seep in.
Improper wire handling: If the power cord connector is not waterproofed, moisture seeps into the light fixture through the wires, causing the copper core to oxidize and turn black.
Aging sealing rings: Prolonged exposure to sun and rain causes the light fixture's sealing rings to age and fail.
Condensation due to temperature differences: Large temperature differences between the inside and outside, especially when the breather valve is missing, can lead to condensation inside.
3. Is a plastic or aluminum alloy shell better?
The material of an outdoor light's shell directly determines its durability.
Aluminum alloy/die-cast aluminum: The first choice for outdoor use. Excellent heat dissipation, sturdy and durable, and the surface is highly corrosion-resistant after spraying. Most high-quality outdoor wall lights use this material.
Stainless steel: Also suitable for outdoor use, but be sure to choose a grade of 304 or higher for rust prevention.
Plastic (PC, etc.): Low cost, but poor heat dissipation; prone to aging, becoming brittle, and yellowing when exposed to sunlight for extended periods. Only suitable for low-power light fixtures with low heat dissipation requirements.
